Herta DPS Guide - Honkai Star Rail

Herta is a 4-star Ice element character who specializes in dealing follow-up damage to enemies whose HP percentage falls below 50%. She can also deal AoE damage with her Skill and Ultimate, making her a great sub-DPS for clearing mobs. She is voiced by PJ Mattson in English and Haruka Yamazaki in Japanese.

How to Get Herta

You can get Herta for free by completing the first level in the Simulated Universe as you progress through the story. You can also get her by pulling from any of the Warp Banners.

Best Light Cones for Herta

Light Cones are items that enhance your character’s stats and abilities. You can equip up to four Light Cones on each character, and they have different effects depending on their color and shape.

For Herta, the best Light Cones are:

  • Night on the Milky Way (4 Star): This Light Cone increases your ATK by 9% for every enemy on the field, up to 5 stacks. It also increases your DMG by 30% for 1 turn when you inflict Weakness Break on an enemy. Weakness Break is a debuff that reduces the enemy’s DEF by 30% for 2 turns.
  • The Seriousness of Breakfast (4 Star): This Light Cone increases your damage by 12% and for every enemy you defeat the attack increases by 4% which stacks 3 times.
  • The Birth of the Self (4 Star): This Light Cone increases your follow-up attack by 24% and by additional 24% follow-up attack if enemy health is below or equal to 50%. Great if you wish to focus more dealing damage to group of enemies with follow-up attacks.
  • Data Bank (3 Star): This Light Cone increases your ultimate damage by 28%. If you want only have to choose from three star options, this is a great one and helps you clean up enemies with the ultimate attack of Herta.

Best Relics for Herta

Relics are items that grant additional effects to your character’s abilities. You can equip up to two Relics on each character, and they have different effects depending on their rarity and type.

For Herta, the best Relics are:

  • Hunter of Glacial Forest (4-star Ice Relic): This Relic increases your Ice DMG by 10%. It also increases your crit damage by 25% for 2 turns after using ultimate.
  • Musketeer of Wild Wheat (4-star ATK Relic): This Relic increases your ATK by 12% and your SPD by 6%. It also increases your basic ATK damage by another 10%.
  • Space Sealing Station (3-star Ice Ornament): This Ornament increases your ATK by 12% and when your SPD reaches 120 or higher, you get another 12% ATK boost.

Best Team for Herta

Herta works best with characters who can deal high damage to lower the enemy’s HP percentage and trigger her follow-up attacks. She also benefits from characters who can buff her ATK, SPD, or CRIT Rate, or debuff the enemy’s DEF or Ice RES.

A good Free to Play team for Herta is:

  • Herta (Sub-DPS): She deals AoE Ice damage with her Skill and Ultimate, and follows up with more damage when an ally lowers the enemy’s HP below 50%. She also boosts her own ATK with her Technique.
  • Serval (Main DPS): She deals high single-target damage with her Basic ATK and Ultimate, and AoE damage with her Skill. She also inflicts Burn on enemies, which reduces their DEF by 10% for 2 turns.
  • March 7th (Support): She buffs the team’s ATK and SPD with her Skill, and freezes enemies with her Ultimate. She also follows up with more damage when an ally lowers the enemy’s HP below 50%, or when an enemy is frozen.
  • Natasha (Healer): She heals the team with her Basic ATK and Skill, and shields them with her Ultimate. She also buffs the team’s CRIT Rate with her Technique.

How to Play Herta

Herta is a simple but effective character to play. Here are some tips on how to use her abilities:

  • Use her Skill whenever it’s available, as it deals AoE Ice damage and increases the damage dealt to enemies with high HP percentage.
  • Use her Ultimate when there are many enemies on the field, as it deals AoE Ice damage and triggers Glacial Hunter and Space Sealing effects.
  • Use her Technique before the next battle, as it increases her ATK by 40% for 3 turns.
  • Pay attention to the enemy’s HP percentage, and try to lower it below 50% with Serval or March 7th. This will trigger Herta’s follow-up attacks, which deal AoE Ice damage and consume Somnus Corpus and Self-Awareness effects.
  • Use March 7th’s Ultimate to freeze enemies, which will trigger more follow-up attacks from Herta and March 7th.
  • Use Natasha’s Skill and Ultimate to heal the team.
